Master Data

Ships

Schiffe
scr-ships.png

Most of the informations about a ship are of purely informative character. They will be shown in the printed crew list and in the printed logbook.

The following fields have a controlling purpose for the Logbook:

  • Ship Type: The differentiation of Sailing Vessel and Motor Vessel controls the availability of sail oriented functionality

  • Number of Engines / Generator: Controls the number of switches for running engines

Sails

scr-sails.png

The various Sails for your ship can be entered and afterwards moved to the correct Sail Type. Furthermore the number of reefs can be defined.

In the Logbook the short name of the sail will be shown.

We differentiate between Maion Sail, Fore Sail and Jigger Sail.

Polar Diagram

scr-polar.png

The Polar Diagram is automatically updated by your Logbook Entries. If you activate the Polar Diagram in your settings later, it will be established using the existing Logbook Entries.

The diagram is calculated for wind angles from 40 to 180 degrees and for wind speeds from 10 to 40 knots.

Sail Type

By choosing certain sails the diagram will be calculated for the chosen sail configuration

By activating this option, the raw data of the Polar Diagram will be shown. In the deactivated position, the curves will be adjusted.

By swiping to the left, the graphical diagram will be shown.

Ports

Häfen
scr-harbors.png

Harbors are automatically created by completing departure and arrival information in the Logbook. Inside the harbor maintenance you can add information about a harbor such as name of the harbor, phone number etc. You can choose, if you want to create a contact for the harbor and have the information accessible in your contacts.

The map shows you the precise location of the harbor or anchorage. As a default the area of the harbor is a square 0.4 by 0.4 nautical miles. On the map you can change size and position of the square. If there is an overlapping harbor, it will also show in the map. It means, that a second harbor overlaps with your current harbor. You have the option of merging the two harbors.

Checklists

Checklisten
scr-checklists.png

For the Logbook as well as for Ship Maintenance Checklists can be created.

In the Checklists for Logbook (Trip or Day) you can furthermore define the point of time for executing the checks.

Timezones

Zeitzonen
scr-timezones.png

Timezones are automatically created by using the App. Normally it is not necessary to maintain the timezones manually.

A long ocean crossing is the only case where this makes any sense. Since there is not Internet connection in the middle of the ocean, your device has not timezones to choose from. If you desire to change the ships time, create a new timezone manually. Afterwards you go to the current day in the trip and adjust the timezone.

Important! The time setting of your device must not be changed manually, otherwise you will have a huge mess with your dates and times.

Commands

Kommandos
scr-commands.png
